Sam Altman’s eye-scanning ID project launches in U.S. with six locations

Sam Altman’s Worldcoin project, which uses iris-scanning orbs to verify human identity, has officially launched in the United States. The project aims to create a global identity verification system to distinguish humans from AI bots. Users who get their iris scanned by an orb receive a World ID and some of the project’s cryptocurrency, WLD, and can use their World ID for various online platforms.
