Every beta reader should have a few key qualities:

• A strong enthusiasm for science fiction, with a particular passion for one of the following sub-genres: dystopian, post-apocalyptic, adventure, or military.
• A solid understanding of the conventions, and tropes associated with these genres and sub-genres.
• The ability to offer specific, actionable, and respectful feedback, identifying weaknesses and providing suggestions for improvement.
• A sharp eye for typos, grammatical errors, inconsistencies, and plot holes.
• Reliability in meeting deadlines and clear, effective communication.

Please note that in this role, your feedback should be from the reader’s perspective—providing insights and suggestions—but not editing or rewriting portions of the book.
